"Huh?" he says, stupidly, before it hits him that she must be quoting something. Probably some role she performed in the past, or some famous Shakespeare play he's never seen. Either way, both the reference and the meaning are lost on him.

"You said it." He's mostly joking, fully aware that whatever she's "said" has gone over his head. He's grateful for the translation that comes after.

"Just here to push their buttons, then?" That seems to be a favorite pastime of these Gotham "rogues." Bell supposes that when you're this powerful and this unhinged, making a nuisance of yourself is one of the few remaining activities that still has that spark.

"Riiight. The view." Steven can't wait to get back to Utah. "...have you ever thought about getting out of here, Ms. Dahl? Not the-- not here, here. I mean getting out of Gotham." He's sure she's attached to it as so many people are, but doesn't she ever get sick of dealing with all the mess? Out of all the criminals staking their claim here, she seems to be among the most normal. She could do well out there, surely, if she ever decided she wanted to try.

"At least they don't have Batmans out west. Heh. ...you don't think he's started watching me yet, do you?"

"I don't have the wrong idea about anyone," she tells him, casual. "Everyone wants to make money, even if they say they don't. Everyone needs money."

He'll never change her mind about that. Mary Dahl, growing up with a front row seat to corporate greed. She knew exactly what she needed to about human nature.

She turns away again, balancing haphazard and tiptoed on one foot for a moment. "'We still have judgement here, that we but teach bloody instructions, which, being taught, return to plague the inventor'," she deadpans. "A little shrug of the shoulders. She glances back. "They don't like me because they don't like knowing bad things can happen close to home. And I like coming to these things because of that."

Spite. Spite and some healthy revenge, couple with a need to keep tabs on all of them. And it was an open bar not crowded with lunatics or blurred by a haze of questionable chemicals.

"I wanted some air. It's nicer out here. The view." She gestures at it, the wide sky, the neighbouring towers cutting a grim silhouette of equal parts sterile glass and crumbling gargoyles. "And they don't let you smoke in there."

Nica could count on her fingers the past times she’s been at the front when her body has been around Mary. Usually it’s Chucky, coming off the tail end of a night working for Oz. He’d spent a bit of time counting his pay those nights, putting most of it away in case anything happened. Her gaze flicks past the other side of the table to the Gothamites on the other side of the window. The morning seems relaxed, no hint of anything bad happening on the horizon. Its odd. She’s not complaining, no, but it is still odd. She isn’t complaining, but it makes her feel a little more tense.

Bells jingling, she looks up and sees Mary enter, followed by some of her best henchmen. There’s no notice, no murmur rising among the occupants of the diner. Its a mostly quiet morning, although it doesn’t hurt that the diner was almost exclusively patronized by members of the ever-growing rogues gallery. The tips showed appreciation, and the employees at the diner managed to keep the tips by keeping quiet. However, as soon as the door closes, Nica faintly hears the sounds of gunshots. She chuckles, the sound almost resembling Chucky’s.

“Ah, that’s what I was waiting for. It seemed to quiet, you know?”

USED TO STARING. Even on Gotham’s streets Harley and Mary Dahl stood out. But these two girls were more than that and tonight Harley wanted to make her own mark, instead of being in someone else’s crazy shadow. what’s their nightly/morning routine like?

Well. 

Hannibal sleeps in 3-4 hour spurts, so his routines typically revolve around this and any other... activities that he has planned. I could map out his sleep times but I will touch on what was asked lol night and morning routines. 

His mornings typically do start around 6-7 AM. He has a good breakfast and coffee, then showers and gets ready for the outward facing part of his day: work and socializing. On weekends, he does typically “sleep in” though this is not necessarily sleep. This is more a deviation from the time that he makes himself breakfast and gets dressed.

His nightly routine that more closely resembles “going to bed” is probably when he settles in around 10 PM until 1. This is when he winds down from the day, and spends time reading in bed before he actually sleeps. 

These two sleep periods are the closest together of his stints. When he gets up in between 1 Am to 2 or 3 AM it is usually to wander the house or to ensure that what he wants to make himself for breakfast will be ready to go when he gets down there in a few hours. 

All of the above does mean this man is a day napper and absolutely does sleep in his office.
